It'd be nice if the Yanks lost tonight. Just for the sake of form, not that I have any hope of overtaking them. I guess what I hope is that they go into the playoffs cold and flame out early.

Texas off to a hearty start at, er, Baltimore.

For myself, I'm ready for the long weekend.

Ish, I assume you got a volunteer to do thread posts and such. E-mail me (via my profile) if not.

Rob said...

Nope, I haven't found anyone yet. I'll shoot you an e-mail in a little bit, after I get back from the gym.

Sounds like Eck's going to be in the booth tonight on NESN. Yay no Dave Roberts!

"It'd be nice if the Yanks lost tonight."

Toronto's leading 3-0 in the 4th

Quick first inning OTT

Unknown said...

*Crickets chirping*

Unknown said...

WTF Byrd?

Four consecutive hits?!

Unknown said...

Granted, two infield hits in one inning is unlucky as hell.

Unknown said...

Sit

Alright, not nearly as bad as it looked like it was going to be

Score runs

Unknown said...

Oh look, the Cactus strikes out

Fishy single!

Unknown said...

Effing double play

Unknown said...

Great, three consecutive hits to start the third

Unknown said...

I'm not liking this game at all

Rob said...

This is not fun baseball.

It is if you're a White Sox fan!

Unknown said...

I look back and its suddenly 10-1

Ugh

Unknown said...

12-1

Nick Green should start warming up

Rob said...

And now it's 12-1.

Rob said...

Holy crap. The entire field has been changed except the shortstop and the pitcher!

Unknown said...

The Magical Cactus is batting .161/.269/.258 with 28 Ks in 93 AB since the ASB

And now the AAA/Spring Training team takes the field

Unknown said...

You know what, fuck it, let them score 20 runs, get them all out of their systems now so we can take the final three games

Rob said...

I have no idea what the batting order will look like, but let's assume all the changes are straight up. Guessing Baldelli will PH for Ortiz, but we'll see.

1. Brian Anderson, CF
2. Chris Woodward, 2B
3. Casey Kotchman, 1B
4. Nick Green, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. Joey Gathright, LF
7. Josh Reddick, RF
8. George Kottaras, C
9. Alex Gonzalez, SS

Unknown said...

That's what GDGD has the batting order as

Rob said...

If I were making all those changes, I'd make one double switch, just to fuck with everyone.

Rob said...

Heh.

Eck: "Nix does a little Derek Jeter, or something throw."

Unknown said...

Er, no, Green and Woodward are switched

Unknown said...

Missed that at first

Rob said...

Are they switched? Brilliant.

Unknown said...

It also has Kotchman being subbed in for Varitek and then Kottaras immediately subbed in for Kotchman

WTF?

Unknown said...

Hey, all three players in MLB history with last names starting with Kot are now in this game

Unknown said...

Also GDGD has frozen, did they actually sub Kotchman for Martinez and GDGD just screwed it up?

Rob said...

Wait, who's the third Kot?

Oh. Kotsay.

Unknown said...

Ah

Now it figured it out

Unknown said...

Yeah

All three have played for the Red Sox too, and all in the same season

Unknown said...

Well, that sucked

As a Yankees fan what a great game to see. We finally lose...to Halladay...and then the Sox get shallacked! Overtake us? Please. Just hope for the wild card and be content with that
